TechTalk: Unveiling the Latest Updates in the DECENOMY Wallet

Following the inaugural Medium post on its TechTalk series, the DECENOMY dev team has released a second article that further explores the latest wallet releases.

The latest updates, which are currently live on the KYAN testnet, include dynamic rewards calculation, in-wallet bootstrap file for wallet synchronization, deterministic build system, new RPC call, curl and zip integration, and locking mechanism enhancements. This is a standard procedure for DECENOMY where updates are first deployed to tKYAN and thoroughly tested before a wider rollout from DECENOMY Standard Wallet (DSW) to other DECENOMY blockchains.

Dynamic Rewards

Inspired by Milton Friedman’s monetarist principles, DECENOMY has implemented a dynamic rewards calculation system. This feature adjusts block rewards based on changes in total and circulating supply, utilizing a fixed percentage formula and real-time blockchain indicators.

The result is a responsive system that adapts to market conditions, ensuring fair reward distribution and contributing to overall network health.

Streamlined Wallet Synchronization

To improve the user experience, particularly for newcomers and those reinstalling wallets, the team has introduced an in-wallet bootstrap file. This lets users download recent blockchain data directly within the wallet, significantly reducing initial sync time. By starting from a more recent point rather than the genesis block, users can quickly bring their wallets up to date, enhancing accessibility and efficiency.

Deterministic Build System: Ensuring Software Integrity

Third on the list is implementing a deterministic build system using Docker files, which guarantees reproducible builds that align with GitHub-published code. This enhances security and transparency by allowing users and developers to verify the authenticity of binaries.

By simplifying the build process and reducing external dependencies, DECENOMY has created a more streamlined approach to software development and distribution.

Enhanced Reward Information Access

To complement the dynamic rewards system, a new RPC call has been introduced. This feature provides detailed information about reward distribution, including ROI data for daily, weekly, and monthly timeframes.

Users can access comprehensive insights on network-wide and wallet-specific performance, covering staking operations and masternode activities. This tool empowers users to make informed decisions based on accurate and up-to-date data.

Improved Wallet Stability and Performance

As part of the latest upgrade, locking mechanisms have been enhanced to address sporadic deadlocks, particularly in UI mode. This improvement ensures smoother wallet operation, allowing users to manage transactions, monitor operations, and interact with the interface without interruptions, even under heavy usage.

Foundation for Future Developments

Lastly, Curl and Zip functionalities have been integrated into the DSW codebase. While not immediately visible to users, this integration lays the groundwork for future features, enabling efficient handling of large datasets and setting the stage for more advanced capabilities in upcoming updates.

In general, these enhancements collectively represent DECENOMY’s ongoing effort to improve its blockchain platform’s functionality, stability, and user experience. By focusing on foundational improvements and user-facing features, the developers continue to evolve its technology to meet the growing demands of the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
